| Dear
Beatle City,
You may be aware
that Sir Paul McCartney has recorded a track on the Ian Dury
tribute album 'Brand New Boots And Panties' just released by east
central one
records. We'd like your help in spreading the word and letting your
site's
fans know about a special microsite designed and built to celebrate
the
release (at www.dotmusic.com).
As you know Ian died in March last year and since then his friends
and
colleagues have teamed up to stage a successful benefit gig at London's
Brixton Academy and now this special tribute album. The album features
versions of Ian's classic songs by other luminaries alongside Sir
Paul
McCartney: Robbie Williams, Billy Bragg, Sinead O'Connor, Cerys
Matthews,
Wreckless Eric, Grant from Feeder, Madness, Shane MacGowan and Keith
Allen.
50% of the record companies profits of the album will be donated
to the
Cancer BACUP charity for which Ian was spokesperson.
The album has
been helped by a massive online campaign based around the fan
sites of those artists taking part. We also have audio clips, interviews,
e-cards and specially designed webmaster buttons which we'd love
you to take
and help us make the album a great success.
The special
'Brand New Boots And Panties' microsite at www.dotmusic.com
features video interviews, exclusive photos, a webcast of the Brixton
show
and some great competitions. It is being built and hosted in association
with
dotmusic.com the well known music website. (1.7 million users per
month)
I hope you will
take part and spread the word.
Many thanks
Bob Paterson, east central one records
