Searching for A Star

Wednesday 9th August was not only a big day for BeatleCity, (our official launch) but it was a big day for many young hopefuls. If you thought you could give a good portrayal of a young Beatle especially John Lennon, then Elevator Studios in Cheapside Liverpool was the place to be. Auditions were being held for a new film, In His Life-The John Lennon Story. It is to be shot in Liverpool for the US Television Network NBC. The film is directed by Englishman David Carson who for the past 10 years has been based in the US. He knows Liverpool well as he was based in the Granada TV Studios in the Albert Dock when it first opened. One of the contenders for the part of John was Gary Gibson. He really does look like John and can also sing like him. He called in to our launch at the Cavern on his way to the audition. We gave him our good wishes but did he get it? No decision has been made yet but we will keep you informed of any further news on the parts, and on the progress of the film.
