In the running again

Stephen Shakeshaft, Liverpool Echo's picture editor, has been shortlisted for a top sports photography prize. Barclaycard are running a competition to photograph members of Barclaycard's team 2000, a group of 100 Olympic hopefuls. The only brief photographers were given, was to capture the triumph and tribulation of training that shows the essence of what it takes to be a top athlete. Liverpool hurdler Diane Allahgreen training for a race was Stephen's choice. His photograph will be used as part of an exhibition at a farewell event for athletes at London Zoo next week. Diane from Knotty Ash failed to achieve the qualifying time last weekend, but still hopes to make the Olympic squad.
