Mathew Street Festival to go WWW

This year all three days of the Mathew Street Festival will be beamed live around the world. Director Steve McGriskin said: " The event will be the largest multi-music webcast event in history. Camera crews will be uniquely positioned to relay the event from the stages and streets off Mathew Street for anyone who logs on to Livelink 2000."

Once viewers have logged on and paid a £2 fee, they will be given a PIN number that will enable them to enjoy the webcast at any point during the weekend. Last years festival attracted more than 3000,000 people to the city from as far as Japan, Australia and South America. More than 200 bands played live from six major outdoor stages and over 40 indoor venues. 18/05/01
