Liverpool Now launched
Liverpool
Now was launched yesterday at LIPA, by organiser Phil Hayes and Liverpool
music stars, Ian McCulloch (Echo & the Bunnymen) and Gary Christian (The
Christians). The music festival now in its seventh year, has over 100
bands performing at 14 venues across the city centre. Many well-known
people, including Tony Blair, Travis, Peter Gabriel and Robbie Williams,
who hopes to get to see some of the gigs, have sent messages of support.
Liverpool Now has been sponsored this year by CALM helpline - the Campaign
Against Living Miserably, which is aimed at helping young men with problems.
For those who are fortunate to be able to get to Liverpool the event runs
till October 30th
