A £30,000 boost for John's old school

The playground at Dovedale Road Infant School was is in desperate need of improvement. The friends of Dovedale Infant School have worked tirelessly for two years to raise money and so with Head Teacher Wen Williams, they decided to contact some of the famous ex-pupils. Yoko Ono John Lennon's widow and her charity, The Spirit Foundation, very kindly made a £30,000 donation to improve the school playground in Herondale Road, near to the famous Penny Lane.
